- Add a crunchy topping to your casserole by adding crushed corn flakes, crushed ritz crackers or crispy fried onions before baking. If you add a topping you might want to bake for 45 min with aluminum foil and remove foil and continue baking for additional 15 min to brown the top.

- To store leftover hashbrown casserole, place leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To reheat, you can microwave or for best results, add leftover casserole to an oven safe baking dish and reheat in oven on 375 for 20 min or until warm.
- To freeze hasbrown casserole prior to baking, place the uncooked potato dish in an aluminum baking pan. Cover with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and freeze. This potato side dish can be left in freezer up to 3 months. To thaw, remove from freezer and place into fridge the night before. Bake as directed.
- To make ahead, place uncooked potato dish into a prepared baking dish and cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store in fridge. When ready, bake as directed. The potato dish can be stored in fridge for up to 2 days prior to baking.
