This is the perfect thing to make with your leftover Thanksgiving rolls and so good to make for Christmas morning too! Full recipe is below and can be found on our blog www.edwardsfarmstead.com.

French Toast Bake Ingredients:
A loaf of sourdough or brioche bread (You can use leftover dinner rolls too!)
2 cups whole milk or half-n-half
3 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

Crumb Topping Ingredients:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)

Cut bread into one inch cubes (if bread is fresh-let it set out overnight to dry out or you can lightly toast if needed)

Grease a 9x13 baking dish and add half of the bread cubes to the pan.

In a small mixing bowl, beat 3 eggs and add 2 cups of milk, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4th teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and whisk together.

Pour half of the milk mixture over half the cubed bread.

Add the rest of the bread and pour the remaining milk mixture over the top. Let the milk mixture soak into the bread.

In a small mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon salt and mix well. Cut in 1/2 cup butter with a pastry cutter, fork or use your hands. Mix together well. Mixture should look crumbly.

Add crumble topping evenly to the top of bread.

Cover dish with foil and refrigerate overnight, chill for an hour or bake immediately.

Remove baking dish from refrigerator and preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake on 350 for 45 minutes with foil covering the dish. Remove the foil and bake an additional 15 min.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar, top with berries and warm maple syrup!

🎄chocolate dipped shortbread cookies🎄
3 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter (room temperature)
4 teaspoons pure vanilla
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Chocolate bark or chips for dipping
Sprinkles

🎄 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and set out 3 sticks of real unsalted butter to soften to room temperature.
🎄In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, mix together 3 cups all purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 cup granulated white sugar.
🎄Cube butter sticks and add to dry ingredients. Mix on low until all butter is incorporated. (Will look like corn meal)
🎄Add 4 teaspoons of vanilla. Turn mixer back on to medium speed and mix until dough comes together and easily forms into a ball. Don’t over mix at this point.
🎄Remove dough from mixing bowl and turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
🎄Separate dough into two equal pieces. Roll each into uniform size round logs about 2-3 inches in diameter. 🎄Wrap each log in plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for a minimum 30 minutes.
🎄Take dough logs out of fridge, unwrap and cut into 1/4th-1/2 inch slices.
🎄Add cookies to a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake on 350 F for 15-18 min or until edge of cookies become golden. Do not over bake as cookies will become dry and crumbly.
🎄Remove cookies from baking sheet and let cool on wire rack.
🎄While shortbread is cooling, melt chocolate bark or chips in a bowl.
🎄Once cookies have cooled, dip half of the cookie in chocolate and lay on a parchment sheet.
🎄Add holiday sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
🎄Enjoy!

Comment LINK and I’ll send you my favorite Christmas Candy packaging, the instructions to make this yummy Christmas treat and the digital candy thermometer! The full recipe is below and on my blog www.edwardsfarmstead.com.

Homemade Caramels
1 cup butter or margarine
2 1/4th cup light brown sugar
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup light corn syrup
1 pinch salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

•Combine butter, brown sugar, condensed milk, corn syrup, and salt in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
•Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Heat to between 234 and 240 degrees F (soft ball stage) or until a small amount of the mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball when removed from water. Cook for 2 minutes more at that temperature, stirring continuously.
•Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla
•Add parchment paper to a 9x13-inch baking pan.
•Pour caramel mixture into the parchment lined pan and Allow it to cool completely at room temperature.
•Remove the parchment from pan and cut caramels into 1 inch squares using a sharp knife coated in butter or a bench scraper coated in butter works great!
•wrap caramels in 5x5 in wax paper or cellophane candy wrappers. Store caramels in fridge until ready to serve!
