Not only are they delicious, but they’re so easy to make that they will quickly take the place of store bought protein snacks.
Grocery List-Things You’ll Need
- 1 Cup Old Fashioned or Quick Oats
- 1/2 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/3 Cup Honey
- 1/2 Cup Semi Sweet Mini Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Mini M&M’s (optional)
- Protien Powder (optional)
- Cookie Scoop
- Parchment Paper
How to Make Peanut Butter Protein Balls
- Add all ingredients listed above in a large mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. If mixture doesn’t hold together well, you can add more oats if mixture is too sticky. If mixture is too dry, add a little more peanut butter.
- Chill mixture in refrigerator for an hour. This helps the mixture to hold together and roll into balls.
- Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop the protein ball mixture into the palm of your hand and form into uniform size balls.
- Store protein balls in an airtight container using parchment paper to line between layers if needed. Protein balls can be refrigerated for up to a week or place in freezer for up to 3 months.
This recipe will make approximately 12 protein balls.
Protein Ball Variations
There are so many variations and options to make these protein balls your own!
- Substitute the peanut butter with another kind of nut butter
- Add flax seed, chia seed or sunflower seed instead of chocolate chips and M&M’s
- Make protein bars instead of balls by adding mixture to an 8×8 parchment lined pan and flatten mixture to form bars. Refrigerate and then cut into individual bars.
