How to Make a Brown Sugar Bundt Cake
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a bundt pan by spraying with Baker’s Joy or Pam with flour for best results in removing cake from the bundt pan. (You can grease and flour the pan, but I have found that cooking spray with flour works the best!)
- In a large mixing bowl add a yellow cake mix, 3.4oz box of vanilla instant pudding mix, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup vegetable oil and 3 eggs.
- Beat mixture with a hand mixer on medium speed for 2 min.
- Pour mixture into prepared bundt pan and bake on 350 for approximately 1 hour or until a tooth pick comes out clean in center of cake.
- Cool cake completely in the bundt pan before attempting to remove from the pan.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
Variations to Brown Sugar Bundt Cake
- Swap out the vanilla instant pudding for pumpkin spice pudding for a festive fall cake.
- Instead of a yellow cake you can use a spice cake…perfect for Thanksgiving.
- Mini pumpkin bundt cakes are adorable for fall treats or for a Thanksgiving dessert table. Just use a mini bundt cake pan like this one and add a cinnamon stick to the center to resemble a pumpkin. NOTE: you may need to reduce the cooking time to 30 min. Check the cake to see if they are done by inserting a tooth pick or knife and bake accordingly.

Tips for the Best Brown Sugar Bundt Cake
- For the best results in removing the cake from the pan, I have found that using Baker’s Joy or Pam with Flour cooking spray helps the cake not stick to the pan.
- Be sure to let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan. This may take at least 30-45 min.
